5 Tips for Cleaning Carpets

Carpets are certainly among the most popular furnishing accessories, but also the most hated by housewives, as they are subject to getting dirty both as a result of trampling with shoes and in the presence of pets. Therefore, it is necessary to intervene with effective means and products to clean them adequately according to the dirt coefficient. About this, here is a list of 5 useful tips for cleaning carpets.

Use the vaporizer

The best way to clean carpets, but also to eliminate the bad odors generated by pets that we mentioned in the introduction phase, is to use the vaporizer. This appliance, thanks to the high temperature, can clean, sanitize the surface of the carpets, and eliminate the typical mites that lurk in the fabrics.

Use a spray bottle

An alternative to the vaporizer is to use a spray bottle with hot water inside and optionally easily available products at home such as lemon juice, vinegar, or alcohol. In all cases, by spraying the liquid, proceed with a general cleaning first with a sponge, then apply some talc left on for a couple of hours to dry it, and finally, it is removed with a clean brush.

Sprinkle the rugs with dry shampoo

A quick and easy method to make the surface of a carpet clean and fragrant is to use a dry shampoo both of an industrial type and therefore specific for carpets of cars and boats, and that for personal use. It is a solution very similar to the previous one. After having sprinkled it on the carpet, a brush is needed to remove the residual dust generated by the shampoo in question.

Use a brush

Using a brush slightly dampened in water and vinegar is ideal when the carpet does not have excessive dirt, so hang it on threads on the terrace and act with horizontal and vertical movements, or carry out the operation respecting the natural fibers, especially if the carpet has landscape or animal embroidery.

Apply adhesive tape to the carpets

If the carpet to be cleaned is only smeared with dust or perhaps sawdust, a simple method to remove the granules from the weaving is to apply adhesive tape such as gummed paper, which pulls them away from the various interstices so, in the end, a simple brushing is enough to get the carpet as new.

It is important to know that there are disposable brushes equipped with their own adhesive on the market, which is used to remove lint from fabrics.
