How to make the desired land for succulents

Succulents, cacti, because of their wide adaptability, live a little everywhere: in deserts and over the rocks, on the sand, and so on. It is hard then to determine the right soil valid for all species.

It depends on the type of succulent plant from its origins and the land where precisely. But you can determine the general guidelines to be followed in preparing the soil for cacti and succulents.

Instructions for preparing proper soil for succulents

  • For your succulent plant, choose land that promotes drainage, rich in sand, not too fine.
  • A dry land, which drains, is important because it protects your plants from the risk of rot above water, not stagnating.
  • To avoid the danger of excess water, you can protect your succulent plant, adding peat or crumbling bricks—one trick by experts that allows the maintenance of the dry soil.
  • To avoid stagnation of water, it is better to lay on the bottom of the pot with a layer of pebbles an inch, do things properly, cover with gravel or pebbles still the soil surface once finished everything.
  • A suitable compound is already available in supermarkets and specialist stores, such as nurseries, you can also prepare you. It serves a mixture of equal parts of universal soil, leaves, and coarse sand.
